In 2003 Barb Bardin began her journey of shaping a floating dock with a small snack bar into a full service restaurant and catering venue. Barb had come from a very successful catering career, where she had one of the most successful (and still operating) catering companies in the state called “Let’s Pretend Catering”. Her presence on the waterfront was HUGE and she was able to transform a floating barge into THE place to be seen during the summer months. Sadly Barb Bardin passed away April 26, 2015 after a long courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Her spirit remains alive at Splash! You will notice our staff t-shirts showcase the things Splash has become known for over the years – Fish Taco, Ice Cold Beverages & Barb Bardin! And no one has summed up the experience of Splash better than Barb…”I have always thought of Splash as the jeweled gateway to Burlington, a cheerful, upbeat place to enjoy delicious food and drinks, a way to realize what a wonderful scenic spot we have here, a bistro where people can experience firsthand Vermont’s tradition of friendly service and hospitality”
Today Splash operates seasonally May-October, offering a casual dining experience on the dock, on-site catering and snack bar. Our restaurant is weather-dependent so be sure to check here to see if we are open or not. We look forward to seeing you and serving you on the dock! – Jenn, Barbara & The Staff of Splash!
